About the record

In this distance there is a party (I do not go) is the third release from Molly Mckew following her first 2022 EP I couldn't grasp it and her 2024 album It should have been done with ease. The 8-song release explores various states of inertia, romantic intoxication, emotional dysregulation, longing and fear. The songs celebrate both vulnerability and strength, and capture raw, fleeting emotion. The first single from the EP, How I want to preserve it, was released on September 12.

Mckew’s dreamy, harmony drenched, lo-fi folk-pop sound is embellished by violin from Rowena Wise, keys from Ryan Oliver and guitar from Sam Billinghurst Walsh. The EP was recorded and mixed by Rowena Wise of Road Noise Studios and mastered by Issac Barter.

Bio: Molly Mckew (guitar/vox) performs dreamy, dark, alt-folk with lots of harmonies, taking influence from her celtic folk upbringing and the femme angst-pop of her teenagehood. She released her debut solo EP, 'I couldnt grasp it' in August 2022 and an album "It should have been done with ease" in April, 2024. Her follow up EP 'In the distance there is a party (I do not go)' was released November 2025.
